More praise...

Joe Shanahan, founder and owner of two of Chicago’s premier music venues, Metro and Smart Bar in a note to Steve today…

“Love the book....really found it to be wonderfully edited and covers many journeymen as well as established Chicago/scene musicians. I applaud you for finding the guys and gals that do not get the press or presence as a Corgan/Tweedy these days. They get the short end of the press and photo ops, but are essential to all bands and music communities.

Well done...”

We're happy about this too!!

Lester Holt, NBC’s Weekend Today Show and Nightly News anchor upon receiving a copy of Their Love Of Music "I agreed to write the foreword for Steve’s book based on conversation and seeing some sample pictures from the concept. Having returned to my office to find a copy last week, my reaction was that it is amazing work and he should be proud! I'm very pleased to be a part of the project.”

Sometimes one word...

...says it all! The reaction of Rick Kogan, Chicago Tribune columnist and WGN radio host, when he saw Their Love of Music today?

"Fantastic!"

More kudos!!!

Really exciting stuff...

Steve stopped by Chicago’s WXRT 93.1 this morning to drop off a copy of “Their Love of Music” to John Farneda, the station’s Music Director and an early supporter of the project. Didn’t get too far before Lin Brehmer, Chicago’s number one morning rock jock took a look and told Steve that “"The pictures are unbelievable, so crisp…it will be on everybody’s coffee table after the holiday season". Norm Winer, Program Director for ‘XRT, said, “This book is fantastic, such a wide variety of artists', very nice”! John may actually get the book back today and told Steve that “I can't wait to bring it home and read it”.

Unique joy!

From Richard Mack, Quiet Light Publishing:

As a publisher there are many moments were you have a great sense of accomplishment, when sales are good, when great reviews come in, when awards are heaped upon a new release, but there is one moment which stands above all else. It only can happen once per book. It is that moment when the finish book arrives from the printer. You can only see it for the first time once. And I had that pleasure this morning. This time it was also compounded by the fact that I could watch Steve Azzato, photographer of Their Love of Music, see his work in finished form. The excitement on his face was beyond description. He has put in almost 5 years working on this project and this morning he was rewarded with his first look at his compellation of work in book form, [for the rest of the piece and to place an order click here]

Fantastic trip!

Fresh off a trip to Cleveland and some discussions at the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, Steve is happy to report that Terry Stewart, President and CEO of the the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, loved the book! He said, "It is unlike anything I've ever seen and what I love about it is the fact that the portraits are just that...not on stage, not 'action' shots. And I also really like the fact that there are plenty of people I know and plenty of people I don't...".

High praise, indeed!

Steve is also obviously happy to be holding the first book from the first shipment received this morning :) You can still get the 30% pre-release discount and have your book personally signed by Steve at www.quietlightpublishing but hurry 'cuz the discount ends on Sept. 30th!
